United Way of Mifflin-Juniata raised $455,000 during the
2019 campaign. These funds will be used
to meet local needs in the impact areas of education, income, and health. This
final total exceeded the $450,000 goal. “I want to express my most sincere appreciation
to everyone who supported the United Way either by contributing or assisting
with solicitations,” said Oksana DeArment, Executive Director. Mifflin and Juniata residents and businesses
came together to help us reach our goal that will help many local programs to
continue and in some cases increase their community offering.
The amount raised is a positive reflection of the generosity
of the people who live and work in our counties. Because of the caring power of the community
we can meet the needs of the agencies providing after school programs, youth
mentoring programs and support basic needs in Mifflin and Juniata Counties.
Although the 2020 Campaign does not kick off until
September, the United Way is always looking for organizations and individuals
with a desire to invest in the future of the Mifflin-Juniata region. Donations can be made to the United Way of
Mifflin-Juniata, 13 East Third Street, Lewistown, PA, 17044. Phone: (717)
